Disney Dress: Easter

I apologize, I fell off the blog posting boat while working on my outfits for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weeked. But since I am currently out of fabric from all the outfits I made for that trip and also my upcoming trip to Disney for the Princess Half Marathon, I figured I should start posting some of my outfits again.  I decided to share the Easter dress I made for myself first since I will not be wearing this dress at Disney.  The fabric I used was cotton lyrca from BCD fabrics from her surprise Easter retail. I think this fabric is absolutely adorable. I will add the link to the website  here  and the link to the Facebook page  here . Unfortunately there was very limited retail of this fabric so I do not think there is any left.  For the dress itself, I mashed together the Wiggle Dress and Sweetheart Dress from Patterns for Pirates.  The top is the off the should top from the Wiggle Dress. I will link the Wiggle Dress pattern  here   I love the off the shoulder top, there is ela

Disney Outfit #1 - Stained Glass Timeless Tunic

For my first outfit for my upcoming trip to Disney, I created this beautiful Beauty and the Beast modified Timeless Tunic. This is one of my favorite patterns because it is super flattering for my body type and it uses woven fabric! Which let's be honest, the options for woven fabric are far greater than knit fabric. The Beauty and the Beast Stained Glass fabric is from Joann Fabric and is 100% cotton. The pattern I used was a modified Timeless Tunic from Patterns for Pirates. I absolutely love circle skirts, so I thought this fabric would be perfect to try out of my first pattern modification. You can find the Patterns for Pirates Timeless Tunic Pattern  here . For this outfit, I actually found the fabric first and then ordered the ears second. I saw this fabric and knew the Yub Nub shop had a pair that would match perfectly. This pair of ears is one of her printed ears that she designed herself but they can also be purchased in the hand painted

How it all Began

At some point in time, I stumbled upon an Etsy Shop called the Yub Nub Shop . The owner hand paints the most stunning ears I have ever laid my eyes upon. Not only does she create custom ears, but she also has monthly mystery ears. I think I own about 10 pairs, and I am not afraid to admit that.  Pictured above is one of my custom pairs that feature Wall-E, BB-8 (Who is wearing R2-D2 ears), and Bayamax. The only problem was that when I received my ears (especially the mystery ears because they are well a mystery) I suddenly felt the need to make sure that my ears match my outfit.  In my most recent trip to Disney in April for the Dark Side Challenge, I had brought with me a different pair of ears and coordinating outfits for the 7 days I was there. At the time, I was mostly just creating my own t-shirts with iron on decals.  Fast forward to May. It was very odd, I one day woke up with the sudden desire to start sewing again and had also discovered all of these
